Good morning
Writing within context is important for your reader. Remember, our role as writers is to avoid leaving questions in the minds of our reader. Let’s then focus on the ideas of percentages. When we use percents, we leave questions. For example, 50% of 2 is 1, right? Thus, 50% may sound like a much bigger number than it actually is, providing a false context to our reader (particularly in research).
The solution is to provide context for your reader. 50% (or 10,000) is far more specific to your reader, providing a comparison, 50% of what number. Make sense? Consequently, let me invite you to provide this context for your reader to ensure you and your reader share a clear understanding of exactly what 50% may be.
I look forward to your thoughts.
My best,
