The International Connection: How do you stay engaged globally?

Good morning colleagues

This week’s topic is the importance of connecting internationally.  When was the last time you connected with colleagues from a different country?  This past weekend, I was honored to participate in the Spring Blog Festival with WIZIQ.com.  I was honored to sit on a panel discussion with UK faculty Vicki Hollett and Jeremy Harmer regarding the importance of the blog as part of teaching strategies in the classroom.  This entire Spring Blog Festival included faculty from around the globe: UK, Germany, Eygpt, Argentina, Spain, and many more.  I was amazed to learn about blogging solutions used in their classroom–of course giving rise to many more ideas for application in my classrooms.

So my question is how to keep up?  How do you stay current in your field AND connect with international faculty around the globe?  In June, I will be presenting at the Interdisciplinary Social Sciences convention at the University of British Columbia in June 11-13, 2014, in conjunction with the University of Illinois-Urbana.  I couldn’t be more honored and thrilled with the ability to share our teaching strategies regarding emerging technologies with international faculty, particularly from my alma mater of the University of Illinois

I look forward sharing your story.

My very best to your continued success!
